Conference Day Workshop

DMS staff in grade 6-8 participated in a workshop on Friday.  The workshop was presented by  Syracuse University professor, Anne Fitzsimmons.  She worked with our teachers on "Reading with a Purpose" where our teachers learned strategies and techniques to help students better understand what they are reading and find meaning from what they read.  Teachers practiced the strategies themselves and are focused on implementing a more consistent approach to reading in the classroom.
