Friday, September 27th was election day for students in grades 7 and 8.  Eight students ran for an office in our Student Council.  Taylor Crysler ran for Treasurer, Alyssa Goodwin and Madeline Lanning ran for Secretary, Kendall Koloski and Carly Wrobel ran for Vice President, Liliana Cushman, Ashley Gilmore and Lauren Lundrigan ran for President.  Candidates created and hung campaign posters and wrote speeches to express why they each would be the best candidate.  They talked about being a leader and a role model.  They focused on their personal attributes of being a good listener, being organized, being responsible ... all important qualites for any leader. They talked about wanted to encourage students to get involved, have a voice and make a difference. They expressed a desire to do more activities within and for our community.  Some candidates mentioned improving the physical appearance of our school, expanding privileges and seeking suggestions.   One candidate expressed her desire to "get this school to be a team; I want all kids to have an equal part in our school".  Another candidate said: "We should be known as that school who inspires others to make a change."  We are vary proud of these students who demonstrated outstanding courage and leadership ability!  Way to go!
