Invention Shark Tank

In science lab, 4th grade students had to create an invention.  The invention had to be unique or could be an improvement on a current invention.  Students had to research, design and create a poster representing their invention.  Mrs. Ercole's class went one step further. She had her students pitch their invention in a "Shark Tank" environment.  Students presented their invention to engineers, end users and educators, such as: Mr. Tavolacci from GE, co-op students, Matt Kinsely from Welch Allyn, Elena Drescher, MCS Technology Director, Jean Sharlow, DMS Assistant Principal and Michelle Brantner, Superintendent of Schools.  In their presentations, students had to share what their invention was, why they chose to create this invention and how they would go about making their invention.  The "sharks" could then ask questions, seek clarification or provide feedback to students.
Below are some pictures as well as some screen shots of thoughts students shared about the experience.
