FACS Food Truck Wars

The 8th grade Family and Consumer Sciences students participated in a Cultural Foods Food Truck Wars project. The students had to research a specific country and build a food truck, menu and flyer according to their research. Students then had to choose one specialty item from their truck and make a grocery list for the specialty item. The students had two days to cook/prepare their dish and put it into sample sizes. Mr. Mango, Mrs. Ercole and Mrs. Tavolacci's classes helped out with the project by coming into each class. Each student in their classes had $8 to purchase the samples from the 8th grade food trucks. The 8th graders competed to see if their food truck could make the most money. The 8th graders taught the visiting students about the culture they researched.

Some foods that were made: Greek pizza, Fijian smoothies and brownies, pork kabobs, churros, potato pancakes, fried rice, Belgium waffles, Switzerland Rösti, homemade pasta, sauce and meatballs, fairy bread, Rote Grütze, and etc.
